As a curtain raiser for the 2019 diving season, Barnsley BSAC Divers is organising an underwater Easter Egg Hunt out at Eight Acre Lake.

All BSAC clubs welcome. *** Please bring along your club banners *** and we’ll try and get a multi-club publicity shot for SCUBA magazine and BSAC HQ.

The basic plan is as follows:

• Site opens 9am – please sign-in with the 8AL shop
• Meet and Brief at 10am
• We’ll split into teams/pairs.
• Devise a nickname for your buddy pair or team!!
• Check in with one of the Dive Marshalls
• Head off into the Lake to search for the ‘Eggs’!
• It is not a race!! Max dive time 45 mins.
• Please remember to check out with the same Dive Marshall!!!
• Record the results of your hunt with the Dive Marshall
• Maybe grab a few more dives with your new chums?
• Debrief and announcement of winners will be at 2pm-ish

The ‘hunt’ is basically a bit of fun. A number of objects in the Lake have been tagged with a number and colour. You have to correctly record the object name, colour and number e.g. HELICOPTER RED-27. The object names are those described on the bearings map supplied by Scuba Dream. Note that some objects are ‘undocumented’!!!

It would be helpful if more experienced divers could put themselves forward for dive leading less experienced divers from other clubs.

There’ll be a few winners on the day – all in the name of fun. Judges decision, whilst pointless, is final!

This is open to all divers. No commitment or deposit necessary.
