Try SCUBA diving with our £25 ‘Try-Dive’ taster session
A Try-Dive can help you save time and money by finding out in advance if you like diving. Costing just £25, first-timers can experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the first time! Please note, minimum age is 12 years old.
A typical Try Dive session, lasting about 45 minutes, involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a SCUBA dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor. We can run Try-Dives most Monday evenings at Dearneside Leisure Centre – all you will need is a swimming costume or shorts, and a T-shirt to wear in the water. We’ll provide the rest!
Your Instructor will run you through a few basic safety procedures along with a brief explanation of your SCUBA equipment. Once you are comfortable and happy, we can try swimming underwater and allow you to experience the weightless underwater environment. If you are confident enough and, more importantly, you want to, we will teach you some more basic skills such as barrel rolls and somersaults!
