Huge thanks to Paul, Rob, and Pam for last night’s incredible presentation to a packed room about our Tope shark expedition!
It was inspiring to learn how a passing comment from a Tiree local during a family holiday planted the seed for this trip. That small idea led to a dedicated club expedition focused on citizen science, allowing us to send valuable shark data and footage to the The Shark Trust and Napier University.
One of the core messages of the evening was the power of collaboration. By pooling resources across BSAC clubs, we can achieve extraordinary things, perfectly embodying the BSAC – British Sub-Aqua Club ethos: “Diving with friends.” Divers are in a unique position—we see firsthand what is happening underwater, making us the perfect champions for marine conservation. Who better?
We closed the evening with a question for everyone: What next? What new initiatives do our members and neighboring clubs want to collaborate and dive into together?
