We have a great social side to the club with regular club meals, BBQs and many other activities. On Mondays, after pool work, we meet at The Glasshouse, Sandygate for a chat.
Dearne Valley Divers welcome divers from all agencies and all levels of experience. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and fun place to learn. As a member, you will enjoy regular diving as well as great social activities, weekend diving trips to inland or coastal sites and diving holidays.
Here’s a taste of some of the activities we undertake:

- Trips to Dive Shows and dive-related facilities such as the York Diving College
- Regular meet-ups at the BlueBell In for a drink and chat
- Lot’s of UK and Foreign Dive Holidays! These vary from day trips, long weekends to full luxury diving holidays!
We enjoyed the York Diving College Hard Hat dive experience so much that we have revisited it a number of times! The course gives the opportunity to experience a by gone era of diving history – participants get the chance to use antique diving apparatus like the Siebe Gorman brass helmet which goes back some 120 years. It’s a great day out that includes lunch, a hard hat dive in your choice of commercial gear, and a ‘dry’ dive in a decompression chamber to 50 metres.
