Hi All – I’m organising a trip to the Sound of Mull in Sept 2017 for Sports Divers and above. Accommodation will be at the cosy Movern Dive Lodge in Lochaline and diving is from a hard boat with lift, compressor, and ‘head’!
Itinerary is:
- Thursday 31st August (Optional)
- Travel to Dumbarton (early evening) and stay overnight at the Premier Inn (approx £40 pppn)
- Friday 1st Sept (Optional)
- Travel to Loch Creran for an optional shore dive (approx 10am) on the only known Serpulid reef in the northern hemisphere!
- Travel onto Lochaline, Sound of Mull to the Movern dive lodge
- Saturday 2nd Sept
- Upto 3 dives from a hard boat (with lift) on the Sound of Mull
- Evening Meal at the Lochaline Hotel
- Sunday 3rd Sept
- Upto 3 dives from a hard boat (with lift) on the Sound of Mull
- Monday 4th Sept (optional)
- Option to stay Sunday night if required as its a long journey home. I’d strongly recommend this, but it means an additional day off work!
Boat Charter is £840 divided equally between the group. Accommodation is £25 pppn (3 nights). Optionally, you may wish to add a further night at the Dumbarton Premier Inn on the way up – about £40. Based on 6 divers, your approx cost will be £250 plus additional money for air/travel/food/beer.
If you would like to register, then drop me an email or see me at the club. I am also asking for £40 deposit to secure your place.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This trip is being shared with the Barnsley BSAC club
- 6 spaces are currently available – first come, first served!!
- The Sound of Mull is very rarely un-diveable due to its sheltered location
- The water will be a balmy 14 degrees
- Marine life, wrecks and reefs are all on offer – if we’re lucky, we may see basking sharks, octopus, dolphins or seals!!!
